Methodology

Given limited funding and resources, the research employed a convenience sampling method using digital channels:

  • A 14-question online survey was distributed via Reddit’s r/SurveyExchange community in exchange for reciprocal survey participation.

  • Additional responses were collected through the Researcher’s extended network, including professionals from underrepresented or marginalised groups (e.g. full-time parents, freelancers).

The survey was live for 3 days, and it was intentionally designed to collect over 100 responses to ensure sufficient data quality, pattern reliability, and insight believability.

A total of 107 valid responses were received.

Participant Demographics

Working professionals/unemployed: 71 (66%)

Students: 36 (34%)

Respondents represented a wide range of working backgrounds: Tech & IT (15), Marketing/Sales (11), Education – working professionals (10), Business/Consulting (8), Architecture/Construction (7), Healthcare (5), Finance (5), Media & Creative (4), Other (4), Admin/Customer Support (3), and Legal (3).

A separate group of Education – Student participants (36) was identified and is analysed independently throughout the report. While there are some overlapping behaviours, students tend to exhibit distinct discovery patterns, motivations, and emotional responses when exploring AI tools.

This survey did not collect or analyse age-related data, as the primary focus was on behaviour, context, and emotional state rather than demographic segmentation by age.

This mixed-source, cross-industry approach was intentionally structured to uncover both common behavioural trends and domain-specific insights, helping shape MyStack.ai’s core features with confidence.
